You own and control the hardware; the facility provides the building, redundant power and cooling, physical security, fire suppression and carrier-neutral connectivity. It gives you data-centre-grade resilience without building or running your own facility.

Both models are common. Rack-based pricing charges per quarter, half or full rack (often with a power cap). Power-based pricing charges per kW of committed power, which suits higher-density deployments. On top of the base, expect charges for additional power, cross-connects and remote hands.
